Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre is holding daily rallies across Canada. Attendance is over 2,500 at every one. According to reports, the rally in Winnipeg had 3,500 people attending. Ironically, or perhaps as expected, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) is downplaying the numbers. In comparison, Mark Carney’s rally in St. John’s was reported to be around 1,650 by the Liberals, but the crowd photo looked to be less than 500.

The March 28 edition of the Neepawa Banner & Press is split into two sections, as we feature an 8-page Farmers' Advocate.

As for our A-section, it includes a look at the three options the Government of Manitoba is choosing for the Highway 1 upgrades at Carberry. Also, a future road closure has been confirmed in Neepawa, and ongoing issues with careless dumping from home owners into Neepawa's water & sewer lines may finally have reached the tipping point.

The following column is a revision of a column from a year ago. Tomorrow, March 29, I will turn 77. For almost half of those years, I have been in the newspaper business full time. For 59 of those years, I have been involved in writing and publishing and that dates long before the desktop or laptop computer.
