The Learn to Skate program in Rivers officially became Rivers Skating Club in 2015/16 and enough girls were then interested that a synchronized team was formed. This year Rivers Silver Jets, only in its second year of existence, entered its first competition — imagine their delight at winning bronze! The stellar standing was announced at the Crocus Invitational event in Dauphin March 18.

Krista was molested at eight years old, causing her to lose her identity and sense of self-worth. At 20, she was raped and her life soon spiraled out of control. Trying to mend the broken pieces of her heart, Krista turned to drugs and satanism. She became suicidal, and that’s when Krista reached out to Adult & Teen Challenge for help.

Sweet times are coming to McCreary, as the community prepares to host this year’s Manitoba Maple Syrup Festival on April 7 and 8. In addition to celebrating all things maple syrup, the annual event has also become a celebration of local culture, featuring music and dance.

Ag Expo to showcase industry

A couple of months ago, Cam Tibbett, who manages Munro Farm Supplies in Neepawa and serves as VP of the Neepawa Natives Hockey Club, started pondering about the team, the Ag industry and the impact both have on the area. Tibbett wanted to re-capture some of the excitement that buzzed around the former Neepex Trade Show from a few years back and set up an event that would showcase the Ag industry. Tibbett teamed up with Matt Lowry, Scott Newton and others to approach the Ag industry people about the concept.
