On Wednesday, Oct. 26 to Saturday, Oct. 29, the Arden Haunted House opened its doors for a fifth year of frightening fun. The haunted house, which utilized the Arden curling rink, saw 500 people pass through the winding corridors and scare-filled scenes.

Farmers get flooded

On Friday, Nov. 4, the Neepawa Farmers travelled to Gladstone to face off against the Lakers in Tiger Hills Hockey League action. Four minutes after the puck dropped, the Lakers’ Jesse Hall drove home the first goal of the game, assisted by Lyndon Saper and Regan Stire. Just 42 seconds after the first goal, the Lakers netted another one, courtesy of Justin Slobozian, assisted by Ed Friesen and Hall. The next goal would come on a power play opportunity for the Lakers, as Trey Evenson scored with the help of Slovozian and Eric Beaudin. Before the period was finished, the Lakers would put one more puck into the back of the Farmers’ net, thanks to a shot by Jordan Geddes, with the assistance of Beaudin and Jesse Toth. By the end of the first period, the Lakers were up 4-0.

Hockey season underway for NACI Tigers

The NACI Tigers’ home opener, which took place on Wednesday, Nov. 2 against the Birtle Falcons, was a nail biting game. The Tigers started off strong, leading the first period 2-1. They followed that with another 2-1 period, putting the Tigers in the lead by a strong two-point buffer at the end of the second period.
