Sarah Jackson, who is on a cross-Canada trek from British Columbia to Newfoundland, passed through the Neepawa area last week. Jackson stayed with Bob and Karen Chabot, who live about seven miles south of Neepawa, for a few days on her walk. She set off again on Wednesday, April 13 to continue east.

Join us on Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm to hear Laura Reeves of Prairie Shore Botanicals share the wealth of information that she’s compiled in her book, Laura Reeves’ Guide to Useful Plants. Ms. Reeves has a passion for the natural landscape and all the wonders contained within. She’ll give us a quick tutorial on many native Manitoba plants and their little-known nutritional and healing properties, as well as many practical uses and delicious recipes that we can all make at home.

A big Thumbs Up to all the youth of Neepawa and surrounding areas who have chosen to challenge themselves by participating in music, arts, recreational/competitive sports, clubs and volunteer programs. You are not only enhancing your own lives, but are contributing to the vitality of the area. It contains a detailed listing of the incredibly wide range of opportunities in which one can participate.
