Made-in-Manitoba Website Application Demonstrates Teamwork, Technological Innovation, Community Spirit: Premier
The generosity and innovation of Manitobans to help those in need of assistance is displayed in the new web applicationwww.HelpNextDoorMB.ca, Premier Brian Pallister announced today immediately after the online tool went live.
"This new online tool captures the spirit of our province, where Manitobans in communities across our province can always be counted on to step up to assist others who need help, especially in times of need," said Pallister. "The innovative tool, created by Manitobans for Manitobans, puts people all over the province who need assistance easily in contact with those nearby - while adhering to social distancing protocols - who want to help them."
Manitoba declares a state of emergency

Manitoba premier Brian Pallister has declared a state of emergency for the province. The decision was announced during a morning media conference in Winnipeg on Friday, Mar. 20. Pallister said that this declaration, which does fall under The Emergency Measures Act, hasn’t been made lightly.
“We must continue to use every tool available to ‘flatten the curve’ and reduce the spread of COVID-19 on our communities and our health-care system,” said Pallister. “Our government is focused solely on the health and safety of all Manitobans. This move will enable us to react more quickly on a broad range of supportive measures to stop the spread for COVID-19 and ensure that essential services are available for all Manitobans during this global health pandemic.”

New acute care facility visitor restrictions

For all acute care facilities, including acute mental health facilities, in Manitoba, visitor access is being suspended immediately. Visitor restrictions took effect today – March 19 – at 3 pm. Exceptions for compassionate reasons for end of life will continue to be made on a case-by-case basis but will adhere to vigilant screening.
At the discretion of individual managers, one (1) visitor may be permitted to the following areas following screening:
