Rapid City Ag Society, and its many partners, hosted its 136th annual fair on Saturday, June 25. Rapid City Nursery School planned to kick off the day at the fairgrounds by offering a breakfast but when they arrived to discover the overnight wind storm blew down the tents, plans quickly changed. The meal was served at Rapid City Legion and nearly 200 people feasted on the food. Brittney Bootsman won the 50/50 draw worth $129.

Celebrating community in Rapid City

Rapid City Elementary School teachers Louise MacDonald and Jodi Hrymak had a plan 18 months ago to include art in the curriculum for all grades. They sent a proposal to Manitoba Arts Council, which provided a grant last year and the expertise of Midwest Arts Council. Those 12 months have passed and Monday, June 27 was the official opening of the community art project — a mural on the east wall of the RM of Oakview building.
Hike for Hospice raises funds

On Sunday, June 12 Riverdale Palliative Care held its Hike for Hospice fundraiser. The event is held annually to not only raise funds for the local organization, but to also remember and honour the clients who have died in the past year. It is also a time to celebrate the efforts of the many dedicated caregivers and volunteers who care for those who are facing life-limiting illnesses and for their loved ones.

Riverdale Splashpark Committee is excited to announce our summer fundraising event — a band blast— along with the help of Tad Hoyak. The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 20, 1-8 p.m. in the parking lot beside Shelly Mom's Kitchen. We are planning other family activities for the day, along with a “flea market” garage sale.
