RM of Oakview, April 28: Rapid City Fire Department is still looking for a suitable used fire truck; a foam ranger was discussed. Certain ratepayers have requested to enter into an agreement with the municipality regarding tax arrears; council agreed with certain property owners on the condition that all outstanding 2015 property taxes be paid by Feb. 28, 2017.

Photo by Kira Paterson. Sandra Turner (left) purchased 374 Mountain Avenue to convert the front half, where Beyond the Garden Gate giftware used to be, into a hair salon. Brent Hunter, Ginny Collins and Tannis Brown, who ran the flower shop, had the giftware section on sale to clear out the inventory by May 12 to make way for Turner’s new business.

The local flower and gift shop, Beyond the Garden Gate, is in the process of downsizing to a flower shop only. Their giftware had been on sale for the past few weeks to help clear out their inventory in preparation for that half of the store to be converted into a hair salon. They officially closed the giftware section on Thursday, May 12.

The US presidential election looks like it’s going to deliver a race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Who would have ever wanted that? Does the American voter want a presidential choice such as that? Come on, isn’t there any better candidates in the whole of the United States than those two?
