My perspective - Canadian confession

I have a confession. Despite living in Ontario for my first 13 years and making many trips to Ottawa, until last week, I had never actually been to Parliament Hill. When I found myself in Ottawa with a couple of hours to kill, I made arrangements through our constituency office to check out this iconic Canadian landmark.

Positive response to economic development forum

New ideas on economic development were plentiful at the Economic Developers Association of Manitoba (EDAM) spring forum. 

The event was co-hosted by Neepawa and Minnedosa from May 11-13 and featured 75 representatives from 52 different municipalities and organizations from across Manitoba. Those numbers made it one of the most well attended EDAM events in the past decade.

Rivers teen wins bronze at nationals

Sixteen-year-old Haylee Anderson of Rivers was in Mississauga, Ont. May 2-7 to compete in the annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championship (NAHC). As part of Team Manitoba, she and the rest of the roster claimed their second consecutive bronze medal; Haylee’s first NAHC bronze medal was won last year in Halifax.
