There are things in my daily life that could, and sometimes do, irritate me. Today, as I tackled the day, one chore at a time, I chose to wonder. The yard is looking presentable, the grass short enough for me to spot the mole hills.

The Neepawa Natives generated a slight profit during its most recent financial year. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League club announced a net profit of $33,011 for the 2014-15 season during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 22 at the Yellowhead Centre. Those financial results are an improvement from 2013-2014, when the organization posted a loss of $58,035 and was on the brink of disbanding.

Multiple track and field athletes from Neepawa set new personal bests at the 2015 Western Canada Challenge. The event was held in Winnipeg from Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19, and featured competitors from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Imagine if instead of telling kids to “Get a job!”, we said, “Start a business!”? Imagine how different our Main Streets would look? For a country that was built by small business owners, some of whom became large, we have become increasingly adverse to entrepreneurship.
