Alguire Bros. have purchased the Foerster Block on Mountain Avenue and the store premises have been rented to John A. Brodie, of Brandon, who will start up a second hand furniture store and repair shop. The building is to be remodelled later to make room for more office space.

As I write these words, the investigation into the recent Toronto killings is on-going. A 25 year old male suspect has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of first degree and 13 counts of attempted murder. A 14th charge, police say, may be laid soon.
Kaitlyn Lawes to headline Minnedosa Sports Dinner

The Minnedosa and District Recreation Commission has secured a world-class athlete for the this year’s edition of its Sports Dinner. It has been confirmed that curler and multiple Olympic gold medalist Kaitlyn Lawes will headline the event, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20.
