Depopulation is a serious issue facing many rural communities. Over the last hundred years, Canadians have become increasingly urban and this shift has created challenges in many smaller towns and cities. They’ve seen their youth leave for education or career opportunities and not come back.

I just read this morning that the Manitoba trucking industry isn’t happy with the Manitoba version of a carbon tax. I can’t imagine that they would be.

Sopuck will not run in next election

MP Robert Sopuck announced his intentions not to run for re-election in the Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa constituency at the AGM on Saturday, May 5 in Minnedosa. Sopuck says he will continue to advocate for rural lifestyle.

Robert Sopuck, Member of Parliament for Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa (DSRN) will not be running in the next federal election. Sopuck who is in his third term as MP, made the announcement Saturday morning at the DSRN constituency annual meeting for the Conservative Party of Canada.
