Cubs fall to Mavericks in Santa Clara season opener

The start of the Santa Clara Baseball League season did not go the way the Neepawa Cubs had hoped it would, as the team was shutout by the Minnedosa Mavericks 7-0. The game was played on Wednesday, May 18 in Minnedosa and was one of four opening night matches on the Santa Clara schedule.

Fatal crash claims one victim

Traffic was slowed to a stop yesterday evening, following an accident on Highway 5, north of Neepawa.
RCMP reports that on May 19, just before 5:00 pm, the Minnedosa RCMP were called to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 5 near Road 98 N, in the RM of Rosedale.

The Neepawa Tigers baseball team rallied back in a big way on Tuesday, May 17, to earn a massive 13-3 win over Carberry. After giving up three runs to the Cougars in the top of the first inning, the Tigers settled down on the defensive end and shut out the opposition the rest of the way.
