Rivers Police Service would like to remind motorists we are running our annual distracted driving/Road Watch campaign. Police will be targeting drivers using their cell phones, and other high-risk driving offences such as impaired driving, speeding and failure to wear a seat belt.

Full disclosure; but when it comes to the Neepawa Town Council, this is my favourite time of the year and the reason why is quite simple. Because this is the only time of the year in which people, other than myself and Jackie from NACTV, actually bother to pay any attention to Neepawa Town Council.

Cut to grant puts VCC’s future in jeopardy

For the Viscount Cultural Council (VCC), losing half of their annual grant from the Town of Neepawa came as a surprise. On April 19, the Town of Neepawa presented the first reading of their 2016-2017 budget, which included cuts to the grants distributed by the municipality to local organizations.

The resounding defeat of the Manitoba NDP on April 19 was a long time coming. They won elections in 1999, 2004, 2007 and 2011. By 2016, their luck ran out and to many in Manitoba, it was none too soon. The NDP would never have won the 1999 election except for a combination of circumstances that worked in their favour.
