Around 100 young prospects hit the ice at the Yellowhead Arena this past weekend, looking to make a lasting impression on the management and scouting staff of the Neepawa Natives. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League team hosted its annual spring evaluation camp from Mar. 25 to 27.

Team Samagalski wins Provincial Mixed Curling title

A thrilling weekend of competition at the Neepawa Curling Club was capped off on Sunday, Mar. 27, with the crowning of new mixed provincial curling champions. Team Samagalski, of the Gimli Curling Club defeated Team Calvert from Fort Rouge 3-2 in the final of the Chicken Chef Mixed Provincial Championship.

The search for a missing Manitoba child ended in tragedy on Saturday, Mar. 26, as the body of two year old Chase Martens was found in a creek close to his family’s home.  The discovery of the deceased toddler, who had been missing since Tuesday, Mar. 22, followed a massive search effort from RCMP, Winnipeg Police, local emergency services personnel and volunteers, in the rural area near the community of Austin.
