Fatal farm accident near Shoal Lake

Yellowhead RCMP are investigating a fatal farm incident. On Sept. 11 at approximately 10:40 am, RCMP responded to a farm incident near the community of Sandy Lake.

A 44-year-old male farmhand from Keeseekoowenin First Nation was in the box of a grain truck that he was unloading when he began sinking into the grain.

Wayway tops Neepawa in final pre-season tilt

The Neepawa Natives wrapped up their pre-season schedule with a 3-1 loss to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Sunday night. The Wolverines outshot Neepawa 39 to 32 on its way to victory. The first regular season matchup for the Natives is set for Friday night when they host the OCN Blizzard at the Yellowhead Centre.

The Neepawa Natives are wrapping up their pre-season schedule this weekend. The team will be playing three games over the next three nights, including a back to back set against the Winkler Flyers. The first game will be tonight in Winkler, while on Saturday night, both teams will meet at the Yellowhead Centre. The third and final game for the Natives is at home on Sunday against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Wolverines blank Neepawa in MJHL pre-season play.

A disappointing night for the Neepawa Natives on Wednesday evening, as the club was shut out by Wawayseecappo 7-0. After a scoreless first period in Wayway, the Wolverines went 4 for 4 on the power play in the second. They capped off the night scoring three more in the final period to seal the victory.
